Before we begin, I want to take a moment to announce the winner of Monday’s podcast competition. Corey Hobbs was the first person to respond with incredible feedback, and asked that we study the Ship of Theseus. I was very excited because this just so happens to be one of my favorite philosophical problems of all time.
This parable has a lot to do with reality, human perception, and metaphysics, so we’ll kick off next Monday with the parable and spend the rest of the week exploring what different thinkers and philosophies have had to say about reality and epistemology—how do we trust what we perceive, and how do we know what we know?
Also, Corey mentioned he first heard about the Ship of Theseus from Disney+’s Wanda Vision, so I might have to binge some of that this weekend if anyone would care to join.
