The Ultimate Guide
User friendly archive + what comes next
Dear Readers,
As I ramp back up into a new season of writing, I found myself taking inventory of what I’ve written so far.
The biggest source of anxiety I face when thinking about how best to serve you, is making the content accessible so it can be useful.
With over 200 essays it’s hard to understand where to begin and what’s available.
Below, I’ve organized the essays for you in three different ways:
By Topic
By Philosopher
By Tradition
I’ve also included the 3 minute summaries for most major topics at the very end.
Most likely, this email will be truncated due to its length, so I’d suggest viewing it in your browser for easy reference, and please use “ctrl+f” if you’re looking for something in particular.
My hope is that you can easily find what you need by using this layout below. For example if you’d like something on Stoicism, you can navigate to section labeled By Tradition and then look for Stoicism before finally choosing a relevant subtopic. Fancy an article about Happiness? Start in the By Topic section, look for Happiness and select an article that sparks your curiosity.
Finally, I’ll leave you with a takeaway that this exercise has imparted upon me. It’s something that I’ve been afraid to do, but by now I think I’ve earned the confidence (maybe even the right) to do.
Moving forward, I will be doing original work.
Rather than surmising what others have taught and said, I will be sharing more about how I’ve applied this knowledge for myself through frameworks, tools, and perspectives I use to navigate the world on a daily basis.
It’s scary to strike out on own’s own—imposter syndrome is so real! Who am I to suggest that my personal philosophy is worth your time!?
But I’ve also come to crave the connection and community that comes from being vulnerable in sharing my point of view. In my highest aspirations, perhaps I will help someone. And at minimum, I think I will enjoy the challenge of overcoming my fears, and finding new connections with ideas and people alike.
Keep an eye on your inbox for my first installment soon.
Until then my friends, be well, and enjoy the archive redone for you. I spent quite a few hours aggregating and organizing with you in mind. I hope you find it useful.
Amor Fati,
Matt
